Sparrowhawk encounter in Liphook, Hampshire

It’s not every day that you see a sparrowhawk from your garden.

I first noticed a mischief of magpies (great collective noun, don’t you think!?) in a neighbours front garden. On closer inspection I found they were trying to get a free meal from a sparrowhawk that had a fresh kill.

Having previously spent a fair amount of time looking out for sparrowhawks to photograph, I couldn’t pass up this opportunity I had to run and get my camera to grab a few shots.
